W momencie wylaczenia przekaznika na jego cewce indukuje sie napiecie przeciwne do napiecia w czasie wlaczenie. Moze ono osiagac tak duze wartosci, ze przebije trranzystor, zeby to ograniczyc daje sie wlasnie ta diode - zaczyna przewodzic redukujac szpilke napiecia.
