How do I enable the AUX audio input in V5.5 and V6.6?
Starting with these new SW Versions two modes of the A/V input will be possible:
A/V input - Will be disabled at velocities higher than 5 km/h including the audio signal
Audio input only - Will be audible at all velocities w/o switch-off
First, it's required to have this functionality enabled by using the PPS (PSA) or Examiner (FIAT/Lancia) configuration tool. You get access to that via your dealership. The tool is avalable in the dealerships since mid of August, 2005.
The required version of the PPS is: Peugeot Planet 2000 05.B (10.29) or later [The latest SW realease is 10.31)
The required version of the Examiner is currently unknown.
In thePPS, the mechanics has to follow the procedure below:
- Select "Planet 2000"
- Choose "Telematics/External Audio" (or similar, german: Telematik Steuergerät/Audioanschluss) [which is disabled at the older PPS/Examiner versions]
- Set this option to "enabled"
The Examiner procedure should be similar.
Now it's up to the user/driver to enable/disable this option via the regular RT3 interface:
... and now, it´s done !
How does the activation of A/V inputs work version V5.4?
Along with RT3 version V5.4, the A/V connectors in the glove compartmet can be enabled via the garages' diagonostics computer (FIAT/Lancia: Examiner, PSA: Diag2000). The dealership needs to have the latest diagnostics software release (exact version currently unknown, please PM...) in oder to activate the inputs. It is recommended to print those instructions and pass them on to the mechanics, since some dealerships have problems locating the A/V activation menu.
The procedure itself is explaines as follows:
--------------- procedure for Examiner versions <= 5.60.1--------------
1. In the "main menu", choose the group "instrument panel" and submenu "Connect Marelli PSA". Make sure that "Skip ISO" is actiavted
2. Turn on the ignition
3. Choose "Active Diagnosis", find
a)Cancellation of the personal data
b)Configuration code VIN
c)Configuration keys called
d)Manual configuration of the system
e)Automatic Reading of the configuration
f)Automatic Writing of the configuration
4. Choose "Configuration"
5. Choose "Manual system configuration", find
a)Configuration code VIN
b)Configuration screen (ext.temperature-video input-speed alarm)
c)Configuration options (ext keyboard-hifi connection-assist.call-emergency call-telediagnosys service-request info with sms service-loader cd
d)Configuration car radio and telephone (telediagnosys intervention)
e)Configuration speed block functions(block video - block keyboard)
6. Choose "Configuration Speed Block Functions (block video - block keyboard)"
7. Now, the two parameters are being displayed along with the correspondent values that relate to the two A/V inputs.
8. Choose "Modify"
9. Change the A/V parameters and confirm.
Ocurring error messages during that procedure can be ignored. They are generated since due to the "active diagnosis" procedure, modules are being disconnected (i.e. display from RT3 unit) softwarewise and the body computer considers that as a failure and protocols it.
Attention: In order to apply the changes, they must be written. This operation demands between 35 sec to 1 min. Don't turn off the Examinerand don't disconnect the plug, until the entered parameter appears again and the operation is finished correctly.
--------------- procedure for Examiner version 5.60.2 --------------
1. In the "main menu", choose the group "instrument panel" and submenu "Connect Marelli PSA". Make sure that "Skip ISO" is actiavted
2. Turn on the ignition
3. Choose "Active Diagnosis", find
a)Cancellation of the personal data
b)Configuration code VIN
c)Configuration keys called
d)Manual configuration of the system
e)Automatic Reading of the configuration
f)Automatic Writing of the configuration
4. Choose "Configuration"
5. Choose "Manual system configuration", find amongst other picks
x) "Activation of A/V"
6. Choose "Activation of A/V"
7. Hit "Activate" key
CAUTION:
Stopping the procedure here will not only result in a blocked A/V, but also blocked interface while driving! Searching for TMC stations, adjusting brightness or enter naviagtion destinations as some examples are not possible!
8. Refer to the procedure for V5.60.1 and modify the speed block function (in 7.), there's only one parameter to modify)
NOTE: This will only allow to enable the RT3 user interface, not the A/Vs while driving, though. There's currently no other way to enable the A/Vs while driving as to use V5.60.1. (A downgrade to this version takes about 15 minutes, a re-upgrade to V5.60.2 approx. 10 Minutes.)
A/V turn-off while driving and V5.4
(updated 9th of June, 2004)First, one general topic:
Take care not to confuse the RT3 software versions with the examier/Diag200 software versions. As the RT3 versions are the "operating system" of the RT3, the Examiner (FIAT/Lancia) and Diag2000 (PSA) versions are the "operating system" for the diagnisis system aka "tester".
If you or your dealer experience a problem when trying to deactivate the "auto switch-off" of the A/V inputs, check the following guidlines:
1. If you have a TMC and Mono-/Bi-Tuner RT3, A/V enabling and modification of the switch-off velocity are settable with Examiner/Diag2000 versions V5.40, V5.50 and V5.60. Lower versions won't work. Ask your dealer to update his tester.
2. If you have a TMC and Mono-/Bi-Tuner RT3, modification of the A/V's "switch-off velocity" are settable with Examiner/Diag2000 versions V5.60.1. The version V5.60 will allow enabling of the A/Vs, but not the setting of the "switch-off velocity". The effect is that your external source will be switched off while drining. So make sure your dealer updated to V5.60.1 and have him set the "switch-off velocity" to a proper speed (like 200 km/h)
3. If your dealer is running the latest Examiner/Diag2000 version V5.60.2, you'll face a problem. The version V5.60.2 will allow enabling of the A/Vs, but not the setting of the A/Vs "switch-off velocity".
