    Hi
I have a pioneer xv-bd717 blue ray player and everything on it works very well except blue ray drive (blue ray drive no opened with either button on panel or remote control) and after one minute it shows "LDR , , ," and "LDR NG" on its front screen and then turns off. How can i resolve this issue. Please help me if you have any experience about this problem.

    Thank you very much.

I had the same problem on my Pioneer Blue Ray player XV-BD717W.

Symptom: About 1 minute after switching on the player, the screen displayed "PLEASE WAIT", then "ARC", and then after 1 minute is displayed "LDR ... NG".
The disc drive could not be opened and discs could not be played.

A post on another board said it could be the BCM7633 chip, which has a poor heat sink and that the soldered joint might have become fractured. The author of the post said that he reflowed the soldered joints to fix the problem. This worked for me too. I also replaced the heat sink with a better one.

The BCM7633 chip is located between the disc drive and the Optical In port. It has a cheap-looking, thin, U-shaped, sprung-loaded heat sink.

I removed the disc drive, and then removed the PCB to gain access to the underside. All the ribbon cables came out easily. Once removed, you can remove the spring-loaded heat sink from underneath. Then I used a small gas-powered soldering torch with a flame nozzle to gently heat up the underside of the BCM7633 chip and reflow all the soldered joints in the area. Go carefully.
Then I replaced the cr*ppy heatsink with a better part, secured with thermal paste to the chip. Re-assembled and hey presto, the drive is back in action and no more error codes.
