How to convert Philips PET 700 or Phillips 710 portable DVD to Multi-region (region free)
Philips PET700 and PET 710 are shipped from factory as region 2 DVD player, if you put a US or Asia DVD inside the machine, it will refuse to play and display "Wrong Region" on the screen. However you can change Philips PET700 and PET 710 to a multi-region player with the remote control.
1. Switch player on and Open the tray door
2. Press SETUP button on the remote control, the setup
menu will be shown on the screen
3. Highlight the PREFERENCES, then press ENTER button
4. Press buttons 2, 5, 2, 3, 1, 5, LEFT, DOWN
5. "Region Code: 2" will be displayed on the screen
6. Press "0" to set the player to region free (or
press the related number for the region you want)
7. Press SETUP to exit
