Problem:
Tag browser does not appear to be opening. RSView Enterprise v 4.0 is not showing the Tag Browser window, but all indications are that it is open. What actually happened is the user has moved the window to the edge of the viewable screen area, closed RSView Enterprise and then changed the screen resolution to something smaller (such as taking a laptop out of its docking station). To verify this, open the Tag Browser window (system will appear to lock), hit the Tab Key twice and then hit enter. If you can now interact with the system, the problem is the location of the window.
Cause:
The tag browser window is positioned off the screen. Typically this is the result of having used the tag browser in conjunction with multiple monitors. The browser remembers the last X/Y position it was at. If it was opened at an X/Y coordinate that places it off the screen, it will launch but not be visible.
Solution:
One solution is to press the browse button, then execute the following keystrokes sequentially:
1.
Alt-Space
2.
M
3.
Press the Left Arrow key <- until the browser appears.
The problem can also be corrected by editing the Windows registry. To correct this, close RSView Enterprise and then change the following registry keys that control the position of the tag browser window:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rockwell Software\RSView Enterprise\2.0\Tag Browser
Last Position BOTTOM - set the decimal value to 561
Last Position LEFT - set the decimal value to 167
Last Position RIGHT - set the decimal value to 593
Last Position TOP - set the decimal value to 167
Note: after making the above registry changes, a reboot of the system is required.
